【书名】:Linked Noun Groups: Opposition and Expansion as Genre and Style Markers 【作者】:Michael Pace-Sigge 【年份】:2020年 【出版社】:Palgrave Macmillan出版社 【简介】:使用语料库进行的一种特定的多词结构(multi-word unit)——linked noun groups的研究。 This book provides a corpus-led analysis of multi-word units (MWUs) in English, specifically fixed pairs of nouns which are linked by a conjunction, such as 'mum and dad', 'bride and groom' and 'law and order'. Crucially, the occurrence pattern of such pairs is dependent on genre, and this book aims to document the structural distribution of some key Linked Noun Groups (LNGs). The author looks at the usage patterns found in a range of poetry and fiction dating from the 17th to 20th century, and also highlights the important role such binomials play in academic English, while acknowledging that they are far less common in casual spoken English. His findings will be highly relevant to students and scholars working in language teaching, stylistics, and language technology (including AI). | 此资源由LingLab合作伙伴“语言学小电”提供,感兴趣可添加“语言学小电”的微信13764179404进行咨询! | |
【书名】:The phonetics of Wa: Experimental phonetics, phonology, orthography and sociolinguistics 【作者】:Justin Watkins 【年份】:2002年 【出版社】:澳大利亚国立大学出版社 【简介】:This is a linguistic phonetic study of the Northern Mon-Khmer language Wa, spoken by about one million people in an area on the border between China's Yúnán Province and Burma's (Myanmar's) Shan State. The aim of this book is to describe the phonetic facts of the sounds of Wa in terms of the simplest segment types without compromising detail, and to illustrate the types of contrasts which distinguish them from one another, so that they may be viewed in a wider, phonetic linguistic, context. It is hoped that sufficient material is presented here to inform a comparison of dialectal variants of Wa and that the instrumental data may be of value in comparing a sound in Wa with similar sounds in other languages. This study aims to be accessible to all those who are interested by the relevance of phonetics to linguistics. It is hoped that certain sections, in particular the background information and the discussion of topics relating to the historical phonology of Wa may be of interest to a wider readership, namely Mon-Khmerists, those working on other minority languages of South East Asia or elsewhere, or those with a general interest in Wa language, culture or society. | 此资源由LingLab免费提供,可点击下方的按钮直接获取!
