      邝剑菁是美国宾夕法尼亚大学(University of Pennsylvania)语言学系终身教授，宾大语音学实验室主任，宾大MindCore（人脑认知）中心教授，以及宾大东亚研究中心教授。她的研究兴趣为语音学，研究方法综合语音、心理实验以及大数据和机器学习。目前研究课题关注语言使用者在言语生成和感知中体现出来的多维度“知识”，以及语音演变的内在动因。她已经在国际顶级语言学杂志 Journal of Phonetics, JASA, JIPA 等发表文章数十篇；是美国欧洲多国国家科学基金和多种国际顶级语言学期刊审稿人。

      One central issue in phonetics is the nature of the relationship between production and perception. The mapping between production and perception is rather complex, since phonological contrasts are often realized with multidimensional phonetic cues, and cue weights further vary across different contexts. This issue becomes even more complex when sound change happens, and the relative cue weighing and contextual variation are undergoing reanalysis. In this talk, I will present two case studies -- the ongoing sound changes in Southern Yi and Shanghainese -- to discuss the dynamic relationship between speech production and perception during sound changes in progress, and how this shape the paths of sound change. These studies provide important new insights for phonetic theories of sound change.
